Raised in London, the up-and-coming singer Candy McKenzie upped sticks to Jamaica to enter Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry’s legendary studio in 1977, where this glorious album was recorded but inexplicably shelved by Island Records, only eventually seeing the light of day in 2011, eight years after McKenzie passed away.
